- With technology stolen from the Alliance's G-Project, weapons manufacturer Morgenroete developed the Gundam Astray series in secret. During ZAFT's assault on Heliopolis, the Astrays were ordered to be destroyed by Orb's government. Thanks to a dissident, the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame was luckily left behind, salvaged by Lowe Guele of the Junk Guild. Although the Astray series does not feature the Phase Shift Armor of the GAT-X series, they are much more agile, exemplified by the giant katana or 'Gerbera Straight' used by Lowe.
